With all your digital resources in one place, Skolon is the easiest way to work digitally at school.
My Apps
Every user has their own collection of single sign-on Tools that they can access by clicking on the icon. Each user only has one “My Apps”, so Tools should be organised into folders. This area is visible to all roles.
Library
This area is not visible to ‘Student’ and contains a list of third-party applications that have partnered with Skolon. Some of these Tools are free and can be added to a ‘Teacher’ “My Apps” area or shared by a ‘Teacher’. Some Tools have free trials (denoted by a Test button), which enables staff to investigate the suitability of the application before purchasing licences.
Teacher’s Room
Classes and students are pre-populated and assigned to the correct teacher thanks to School Data Sync (SDS) with your school’s MIS. ‘Student’ users are unable to see this area of the platform. Form here other roles can see which Tools are available to their classes, and which users are using which Tools. This can provide valuable insights into the value of certain tools and their licences.
Notification bell
The notification area provides an overview of key account activity including device sign ins and when new tools are assigned to the user.
Profile
The Profile area includes things such as the ability to customise your user picture and language. IMPORTANT! There is a setting to force Tools to open in a new browser tab. Toggle this ‘on’, if desired.
